Fiscal Sponsor Vendor Recommendations

  • 1.  Alternatives to ActBlue Charities for international work

Hi all, as we all know ActBlue has a big target on its back and completely overhauled its criteria for setting up new accounts to receive contributions. Now they will not set up an account for any fiscally sponsored project doing any international work at all, though they will if the organization is not operating through a fiscal sponsor.

We have a couple of projects and more potentially coming on who do some international work and we need a donation platform for them ASAP that is fiscal sponsorship compatible. Any ideas or leads are very appreciated. Thank you!

Fundrazr! Though you won’t get the C4, PAC, IEPAC features inherent to ActBlue.

I know there are some pretty strong transparency requirements, but I believe you can use OpenCollective as a fundraising platform (separate from the fiscal sponsorship program in the US that closed a couple of years ago). Does anyone know if that’s correct and a viable option?

I continue to be an expert on all things Open Collective, and its international features (layered upon Wise - with their own substantial additional currency features - remain one of their strengths. Happy to talk about weaknesses, etc. as well, just let me know in a reply or DM
