Hi Amanda LaFleur - can you share a little more on what you’re trying to solve for with this? Are you creating this to help introduce NOPI to funders? Or more to introduce your projects to funders?

Great question! We've been asked to provide a snapshot of our projects/who NOPI supports for a potential funder. Specifically, they are looking for the following.

....would be grateful to receive any existing materials you have in terms of the current portfolio of nonprofits enrolled in your programs/services (geographic service area, average budget size, leadership demographics, mission focus and any other details you find helpful), the general profile of organizations on your waitlist, any areas where NOPI is seeking investment to serve more orgs and/or increase its capacity to provide technical assistance and meet the needs of nonprofits in your network.

Wow - that is a detailed request. It sounds like they want an up-to-the-minute annual report type document. Do you all collect the demographic information on your project leadership?

We do! On the application, we ask:

How do 50% or more of your organization's decision-makers identify?
• BIPOC-led
• Women-led
• LGBTQIA-led
• Disability-led
• Indigenous-led
• Veteran-led

We are in the process of analyzing our current sponsorships. I will have more to share in October.

Hi , we use a report in our Salesforce instance that pulls in various data fields like those you shared that your funders are looking for. This report is NOT available directly to our donor partners, but the advisors who work with the donors can access it and start conversations about which partners are aligned.

We're also thinking about how to make this kind of data sharing a two-way street! Can you ask your funders to share similar information about themselves with your partners? These info requests often seem a little extractive in nature...

We did an Impact Report this year that attempted at the snapshot - does not include everything your donor requested, but tried to give an idea of what we do and the programs we support.

Planning to do it again next year and include more info and have been talking about maybe even something like a yearbook to showcase everyone! Just can't wrap my head around how to have time for the latter [Fusion Partnerships Impact Report 2023.pdf]
