Fiscal Sponsor Vendor Recommendations

We use Airtable and I like it! It’s easy to set automated reminders for reporting due dates, which we set to go out one month, one week, and one day ahead. It also provides a way to track incoming grant payments. For instance, for a grant paid in three installaments, we would enter grant payments as “payment 1/3, payment 2/3, payment 3/3.” When each of those payments arrives, we have an automation set where someone just has to check a box, and then an email goes out to the project notifying them that the payment has arrived. If these are the kinds of functionality your practice needs out of your grants system, Airtable might be useful.

@Anne Haddox (they/them) Thanks for these insights! This is super helpful. Airtable is one of our many tech systems but not a major part of our workflow at the moment.. I’m definitely curious to look into this and see what the benefits are, even if it is just replicating some of these aspects in Monday.com (our primary work management system we currently use). Love the automation aspect!

Isabella: I see many organizations using their finance, contracts management, and or CRM-focused systems to track grant management aspects. So I suggest reviewing your current tech stack with a lens of which your systems might best meet (your and the project’s) holistic grant management and reporting needs. @Asta Petkeviciute Thanks Asta! We currently use Monday.com for our grant tracking— it is one of a few different tech systems we use for various purposes. Definitely looking to consolidate where we can, but I’m confident we can build out our Monday.com grants board a bit more to meet our needs. Glad to know other FS orgs are doing the same!
