Fiscal Sponsor Vendor Recommendations

    Hi, everyone. I need help with a best practices solution for allowing our sponsored organizations access to Grantstation. We purchased a subscription and I thought it would be like SAM.gov, where I could sign up people to be administrators and look for their own grants, but apparently it doesn’t have that capability. I would have to give my login info to our sponsored organizations and let them search on their own, but they would see everyone else’s searches, plus have the ability to make admin changes, which I don’t want. The only other option I can think of is to Zoom with them, log in, and let them search while I babysit, which would take too much time. How do others handle this?

    We decided to just set up projects for each sponsored organization. The auto email alerts come to our admin email address. Then we’re able to forward the email to the sponsored org. It’s not full access but it at least gives them the names of potential grants, which is a place to start. For the cost, this is an acceptable solution for us.

    @Whitney Cook thanks. So you did the search in house using search terms they provided to you and then sent them the results?

    @Stacey Hunt Yes. It’s all automatic after an initial discussion with the sponsored organization, so time commitment isn’t especially large. We’re not doing manual searches beyond that, though we may look at reviewing the state-specific site periodically because it doesn’t send out emails the same way.

    We are using Instrumentl in lieu of GrantStation. we cover the annual subscription then charge back the $10 per month user fee to the program. Each user cas sen up a program/filter for their FSO and manage grant opps on their own.

    @Amanda LaFleur thanks. How much does Instrumentl cost? We are able to afford the GrantStation fee of $99/year through TechSoup.
