I just got connected to a local group who is currently an unincorporated association of individuals fighting against a local development project. There are few levels of appeals they can do locally and then ultimately once they have exhausted those options it can be taken to the court seeking to remedy laws broken as a result of the development.
Based on research and their legal strategy they anticipate it will cost $100-$200k to take this fight all the way to the end.
So my question is - have any of you ever supported work like this? Essentially a grassroots org who is not just advocating/educating but actually taking the legal actions to fight for their cause? Mission Edge has no interest in being a party to any legal actions and I’m wondering if anyone else has seen this done in a way that I am not thinking of.
Thanks!
