Fiscal Sponsor Organizations

  • 1.  Resource Development for Existing and Forthcoming EOs

Wanted to share these thoughts on the heels of today’s Non-Profit EO Preparation + Response webinar before they escape me…

"What happens to one of us happens to all of us."

Resources to help unite and ideally protect Fiscal Sponsors and FSOs:

    • Legal Guidance

      • Resources and analysis around potential or active attacks on fiscal sponsors

      • Legal framing and support networks (including Democracy Forward)

    • Google Workspace & Data Security

      • Security measures for shared Google and Microsoft Workspaces

      • Best practices to secure shared files and email accounts

      • Recommendations for enabling 2-Step Verification, restricting sharing, and more

    • Media & Messaging Guidelines

      • Clear language around the role of fiscal sponsorship in supporting mission-driven work

      • Sample statements and media-ready talking points to counter harmful narratives

      • Emphasis on our collective impact and structural value, not just administrative function

    • Talking Points for Responding to Misconceptions

      • Tools to proactively address the idea that fiscal sponsors are “fiduciary pass-throughs”

      • Strategic language to reinforce our roles in governance, compliance, and capacity-building

Thanks, Amanda - Much appreciated. I tried to join at the 8 minute mark and it was closed - filled to capacity!

I heard! For once I was early to something! I'll be sure to share any follow-up materials they distribute if they do so. They did say the meeting was off the record so I presume anything they do share will be official and publicly shareable.

@Pam Campbell I signed in at exactly start time—it was full. People are stressed. Thanks for sharing, Amanda.

Social Impact Commons is having a call on Monday to talk more about this specifically in terms of fiscal sponsors so hopefully additional useful info will come out of that.

The National Council of Nonprofits also released this fact sheet yesterday in response to the potential EOs.
