FWIW OFAC told me they’d watch me my whole life bc i did NOT break the law sending money to help some Kurdish people out in Syria. They basically told me the OFAC data has its limits when complex geopolitics are involved.
Those who know the situation over there, the USA uses the Kurdish Natives over there as pawns. Has no problem wasting their lives. Many of the Kurds have very autonomous aspirations and can achieve quite a bit; the USA has use for them and allows a certain amount of support to them, but it has to curb it in order to curb Kurdish autonomist tendencies because local independence is not part of the US vision of the Middle East.
