One of the promises of fiscal sponsorship is the ability to strengthen community-led actions on the ground that seek to improve the lives of people. This is especially evident during natural disasters when communities and neighborhoods are responding quickly to life-threatening situations, risking their safety and using community resources to provide aid and relief.
This week, we welcome Colibrí Sanfiorenzo Barnhard, Executive Director and founder of HASER, a fiscal sponsor based in Puerto Rico. Her organization has dealt with a number of natural disasters and facilitated the creation and operation of disaster relief-focused initiatives by sponsored projects that have activated long-term strategizing with communities and partner organizations. Colibrí will discuss how HASER handles these situations and share the organization's learnings.
